Hi, my name is Chris and I understand the value of great ideas. These ideas must be nurtured and loved, and it’s my job to turn them into beautifully designed and usable products. I am a Welsh-Yorkshire man with strong family values and I think that shows through my work ethic, professionalism and kind-hearted nature.
Outside of work, I love my little family unit, music and sport. I’m as comfortable behind a microphone holding an acoustic guitar or on a patch of grass with a rugby ball in my hands as I am behind a laptop writing php or HTML code.
If you would like to get in touch with me to chat about the ideas and dreams in your head then please fill out my contact form below.
Yorkshire Camps is charity organisation that run camps for children and young people. They approached me to build a new website as their current version is hosted on a platform which they found difficult to use and it needed a face lift. This meant that the new website needed to be something which they can run themselves with ease. Therefore I turned to the WordPress CMS as this suited their needs and was a good platform to build on. The discovery and design process was something which took me by suprise initially as I worked on a brief aimed at young people. This meant starting from scratch in my understanding of what was appropriate and what elements I needed to focus on. Because of the unique requirements of the brief I decided to build my own wordpress tempalte wich incorporated custom post types and custom fields. This greatly reduced the need for 3rd party plugins for elemetns like the slider and the camp dates.
Hope Church Leeds are a new church based in Tingley. They required a website to aid them in setting up the new church and wanted to use the site as a sign post to more information and increase awareness of their presence in the community. The website is built and maintained using the CMS Typo3 which enables the church to keep the banners and content up to date.
Moorside Church is situated in the village of Drighlington at the top of the Moor where a historic War of the Roses battle took place. The church has a membership of around 50, with regular sunday morning attendance reaching on average 70 people. In the run up to Christmas they organise a large leaflet drop around the village to advertise their Christmas events such as the Carols by Candle Light service or their anual Nativity put on by the Sunday Club. This meant that the flyers had to hold a large ammount of information while being easy to read and interesting enough to pick up from the letter box. The example shown was designed to be an A1 Poster to put up in shop windows and on the notice board outside of the church building. This required a different design to the flyers because the information needed to be sucsinct and to the point, so passers by can take in the information at a glance.
